The Moment You've All Been Waiting For!!!

Well, as of Friday, December 15, Drew is officially a walker! He took his first couple of steps, aided by a flower that is larger than he is! Fortunately, a camera was nearby with this video for you all to enjoy!

Today is the day - Drew pushed up off Mama's knee and stood right up. He did it several times, and was really enjoying it, as you can see by this photo. Let the fun begin!!!

OK it's been a while since there's been a blog entry. LOTS of stuff going on. I'll try to fill you in a little bit at a time. The first thing we're going to show you is Iceland photos. Drew had a happy Halloween! He especially liked the antennae on his costume! Props to our friend Heather for the pro photo!

all about the legs...

Drew is starting to pull himself up and sort-of hold himself up, as you can see here. It's fun to watch, since he doesn't know what to do when he gets there - he locks his knees and can't lower himself down, and gets tired, and then starts to fuss. but it's fun to see him explore and progress. we took him to the pool last night and he simply LOVED it - he was kicking in his little boat, splashing, and just having a grand time.

Drew is one year old!

Everyone says "it's amazing how fast time flies!". Well, they weren't lying! It's hard to believe one year ago we were at the hospital, getting used to holding Drew, feeding him, and caring for him. Now just look at him!! :-)

As you can imagine, this represents just a couple of the cute "Drewisms" that we get to enjoy - krinkle-nose, sudden "roaring", pointing at EVERYTHING, etc. He sure is a bundle of joy and entertainment!

Our friend Heather came to the house to do a photo session with Drew and Mama. Here are a couple of the shots. The color one is splayed on my 23" high definition display both at home and office - larger than life-size!!!

Drew is changing!

Just in the last several days, we've seen a couple fun changes in Drew. First, he's started to do what we call "crinkle-face" thing with his eyes and nose, when he smiles. It's pretty cute as we get to see his teeth also. The other thing we can't help but notice is that Drew is pointing at things/people now! Basically anything that makes him excited or that he's curious about (like meeting Grandma or ceiling fans) will get him to point. See examples here...

Drew Partying Again!

Drew went to Wesley Perronne's birthday party on Saturday. He loves to party! (no cake yet, though...)

Drew has his official high chair now! He loves it! And papa loves it because it's made out of nice wood, with fine German engineering!

Well, the first introduction of Cheerios™ left Drew feeling a little - well - confused! He's still not quite sure what to do with these except spit them out, but it's progress nonetheless...

Drew Visits Family and Friends in Cambria

Drew got to visit his Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt, Uncle, Cousin Eva, and some friends this past weekend in Cambria. It was a little rainy, but that didn't stop Drew from going outside to play!

Drew is 9 months old tomorrow.

Drew has been growing like a weed - out-growing his little pajamas, shoes, socks and his first pair of blue jeans.

Drew and Technology

We went to the Apple store and played with an application called Photo Booth. This is some of the fun we had! As you can clearly see, Drew freaked when he saw that he had two heads!

Drew Updates!

Drew is learning to sit on his own. He's awfully cute when he sits on the kitchen counter. He loves snuggling in Dad's lap, and as you can see, he's growing right out of his car seat!

Surfer Drew

Aloha from Hawaii! Drew has been making a big 'splash' here on Kauai. He's liking the water a lot! Plus he really seems to love the extraordinary views of the Waimea Canyon. I think Hawaii agrees with him as much as it does with his parents.

How Drew Wakes Up

Drew usually will greet mama and papa with a smile right after waking up. I caught this shot of drew waking up this morning, with mama coming to greet him.

Drew eating and drinking

Drew is really loving eating solid foods. Only vegetables now as we 'ramp up'. Peas, carrots, squash and rice cereal seem to keep him happy! Next are sweets - german chocolate cake, tiramisu, etc. etc. I'm pretty sure he will fuss over those things.

ALSO - he LOVES to drink out of a glass. I don't know how much he actually swallows vs. wears on his pants, but he loves the glass!
